We had some really good PR about the Fair this year.

We are on KSTP 5 sports IMCA Dakota County Fair. There is an article and a 30 minute video.  https://kstp.com/news/imca-old-timers-minnesota-stock-car-racing-history-dakota-county-fair/6203796/

Our bit on Finding Minnesota will air on August 25th on the ten pm news. Also the following Sunday and the following Monday at noon. And can be found at https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/category/finding-minnesota/

Channel #2 is working with us on “Racing in the Twin Cities” for next summer.

Hello

I don't know if this is the right place to be or even ask but I'm trying all that I can. My father in law used to race in Minnesota and Wisconsin from the later 60's to about 1980. His name was Harold "Skip" Spilttstoesser. He's getting older in age and health isn't the best anymore.  So I'm trying to find any pictures, videos, or articles about him.  Also he has a full wall of 1st and 2nd place trophies from Stillwater Speedway, Cedar Lake Speedway, and North Starr. I know he started in some 57 Chevys’ one black one silver either numbers 2 or 7.  Also his car was known as the "Black Duce".   Is there any dirt track hall of fame or museum that would take everything?  I just don't want him to be forgotten and I like people to appreciate the past of racing. Any information would be great.

Thank you,

Cedar Lake Speedway Vintage Invitational

Aug 27th & 28th 2021

This is a jointly sponsored event with Northern Vintage Stockcar Racers and I.M.C.A. Old Timers.

We hope to see a good batch of cars to put on a great show of vintage racing.

A couple of quick notes:  You must be a member of either Northern Vintage or the Old Timers.

As always the winner of the heat races must start last in the feature and cannot race past third place in the feature.  Be in staging on time and in starting lineup position to minimize pace laps to help Cedar Lake move the show along.   If you have problems starting, hurry to catch the field, do not stop or slow waiting for the field to catch you.  This way they can throw the green when you get close.

Pits open at 3:00 racing starts at 6:00

For the IMCA members please fill in the form below even if you just hope to attend.  This will give me a chance to get the proper info to the track announcer before each race.
