I.M.C.A. Old Timers

I.M.C.A. Old Timers was formed to promote and preserve I.M.C.A. (International Motor Contest Association) history, including the preservation and excellent restoration of former I.M.C.A. race cars; to maintain records and documents of I.M.C.A. history; recognition of former drivers, owners, mechanics and others involved in I.M.C.A. history; and provide an opportunity for the social and technical interchange of members interested in auto racing history.

1974:    Started racing in a 1965 mustang in hobby stock division at Golden Sands, State Park, & Dells speedways 5 feature wins then sold car.

1980:   Returned to racing in hobby stock division driving a 1970 Cougar.  I had 10 feature wins and raced at Golden Sands Speedway & Columbus Speedway.

1981:   Eight feature wins and Golden Sands Late Model Sportsman’s Champion in a 1977 Maverick.

1982:   Four feature wins and Hobby Stock Champion at State Park’s Speedway, Wausau in a 1977 Maverick.

1983:   Four feature wins.  Quit racing midway thru season

1996:   CWRA Super Late Model rookie of the year runner up – one feature win driving a Lumina.

1997:   CWRA Super Late Model, third in overall points, one feature win driving a Monte Carlo

1998:   CWRA Super Late Model, second in overall points, five feature wins driving a Monte Carlo

2013:   First Vintage race at the Milwaukee mile in my brothers 1972 Nova

2014:   Built a 1976 Bemco Camaro and will be racing in the IMCA and Illinois Vintage Series

Original owner: Larry Smith.

Other Owners: Lou Fegers, Chris Loberg, John Alft, Royce Rossier, Jim Heiland, Rex Rossier

Builder: Car started out as a Bemco Mustang and then was switched to Camaro. We think that this stock Camaro stub car is #0014 that was built by Bemco Engineering back in late 1973.
