I.M.C.A. Old Timers

I.M.C.A. Old Timers was formed to promote and preserve I.M.C.A. (International Motor Contest Association) history, including the preservation and excellent restoration of former I.M.C.A. race cars; to maintain records and documents of I.M.C.A. history; recognition of former drivers, owners, mechanics and others involved in I.M.C.A. history; and provide an opportunity for the social and technical interchange of members interested in auto racing history.

Hi everyone I'm Buzz Cripe, One of the newest members of the IMCA Oldtimers. Alot of you have asked if I have ever raced before so I figured I'd better give you a little history and put you at ease. Yes, I have been around the track a couple of times before. I'm an 18 year racing veteran. Ive got a couple championships Ive flagged at 6 different race tracks I also own and operate BMJ Motorsports out of Rice MN. My wife and I also operated our son's 4 car 360 sprint car team for 8 years so I guess you could say ive been involved in all aspects of racing. I'm really happy to be a new member & looking forward to racing with all of you.

    Racing Highlights:
    Princeton Speedway, Princeton MN-   Late Model Track champion 1976, 1977,1978 Best appearing car and crew 1976,1977, 1979. In 1977 Buzz won 98     of 103 races at Princeton Speedway.
      North Central Speedway, Brainerd MN- Late model track champion 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 Best appearing car and crew 1977, 1978
    Golden Spike Speedway, St. Cloud MN- Hobby Stock track champion (rookie year) 1973
     Northstar Speedway, Blaine MN- Late model track champion 1977 (only year Buzz ran here due to St. Cloud being closed for a season.
     Viking Speedway, Alexandria MN- Late model track champion 1980, Also voted top Chevrolet driver in the upper Midwest by Steinbring Chevrolet.
 
    Buzz also placed consistent top 5 finishes every year at every track he ran from 1973 though 1981
    In 1978 he also won the Central Minnesota Stock Car Association Championship after competing against 25 other drivers at 3 different tracks for 21 weeks.
